How three friends turned a passion for sustainable fashion into Zambia's most exciting thrift community
Snatched was born in the bustling aisles of COMESA Market. While hunting for hidden gems, we realized most thrift sellers had amazing inventory but no way to reach buyers outside their immediate area. Many sellers—especially women—had to choose between tending their market stalls and family responsibilities.
When our stall got rained out three weekends in a row, we started a WhatsApp group to sell our inventory. Within weeks, we had many members sharing photos of their favorite finds. That's when we knew - Lusaka was ready for a new way to thrift.
Our first Snatched survey happened in Soweto. We expected 10 people - over 100 showed up! The energy was electric as strangers bonded over vintage Levi's and 90s Zambian band tees.
With help from a talented developer we met at our pop-up, we launched our first website built from home. That month, we facilitated our first few sales to a number of loyal clients
What started as three friends with a shared passion has grown into a community of fashion lovers across Zambia. We're still small, but every day brings new stories - Making everyday count!
Snatched was born from one simple idea: the best fashion isn't found in malls — it's buried in dusty markets, hanging on wires, and folded on plastic mats.
We're on a mission to bring the rawest thrift drops from the streets of Zambia (and beyond) straight to your phone. No filters. No resellers adding 300%. Just you, the source, and style that speaks loud.
Our meetups where fashion lovers trade stories along with clothes.
Learn how to make vintage pieces work for modern Zambian lifestyles and compete in various workshops.
